30/01/2017 - Paris
Renowned insurance brokerage professionals in the African market, Olivier Dubois and Olivier Canuel announce the creation of a new pan-African insurance brokerage group in partnership with SIACI SAINT HONORE Group, a key shareholder.

With more than 30 years of combined experience in the insurance brokerage business in Africa, Olivier Dubois and Olivier Canuel announce the creation of their company, OLEA, in partnership with the French group, SIACI SAINT HONORE.

OLEA is now operational in several countries across sub-Saharan Africa, predominantly through the takeover of the AFRIK ASSUR business, created by SIACI SAINT HONORE and THEOREME. “We want to quickly become a leading pan-African group through the rapid creation of a network of integrated subsidiaries in more than twenty countries, offering a high-quality service characterized by technicality, proximity and responsiveness,” says Olivier Dubois.

Africa is experiencing strong growth, driven by the economic dynamism seen on the continent since the early 2000s, the emergence of young, well-connected middle classes, the proliferation of infrastructure projects, the development of new modes of production and distribution and the appearance of a host of SMEs with a new generation of entrepreneurs.

Faced with the challenges of this changing continent and its increasingly competitive and regulated markets, the OLEA network offers an alternative, quality offering to large, long-established, traditional brokers by means of professional, multicultural and experienced teams together with proven risk management tools.

« Our brokerage business consists of providing companies of all sizes, from national SMEs to the subsidiaries of large international groups, with the best insurance solutions to help them optimize the management of their risks. We customize our approach, », explains Olivier Canuel. « Our highly detailed knowledge of the insurance market and all of its African players is the driving force behind our pan-African deployment strategy», adds Olivier Dubois. OLEA will initially focus on direct brokerage business lines, the servicing of brokers who are not present on the continent, and international reinsurance brokerage.

« By investing in this operation, we remain faithful to the SIACI SAINT HONORE approach, which means entrusting the business to an experienced, autonomous management team who will be closely involved in all aspects of the project, to maximize the chances of capturing a greater share of the African market,» confirms Hervé Houdard, Managing Director of SIACI SAINT HONORE Group.

« Having already set up AFRIK ASSUR together with THEOREME, we are delighted to pursue this key growth strategy through the creation of the OLEA network with its aim of becoming a leading player in Africa thanks to the dynamism and professionalism of its two founders », concludes Pierre Donnersberg, Chairman of SIACI SAINT HONORE Group.
